Compliance Coordinator

About the Role

In this role, you will support the ongoing compliance and insurance requirements across DFDS UK&I, ensuring that drivers, vehicles, and equipment meet internal policies and regulatory standards. You will work closely with depots, Transport Managers, and the Compliance & Insurance Team to monitor records, identify issues, and ensure actions are followed through.

Please note - This role is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months, working Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00.

You will be responsible for

  • Monitoring internal compliance systems, reviewing driver, vehicle, and equipment records, and identifying any anomalies or areas requiring attention.
  • Managing and maintaining compliance documentation, including requesting, checking, and organizing driver and agency documentation and completing routine file reviews.
  • Producing and distributing compliance reports to DFDS depots, collating information from teams, and providing accurate updates to the management team.
  • Coordinating driver improvement and compliance activities, including organizing relevant courses following accidents and working with Transport Managers to resolve issues.
  • Supporting insurance and claims activity, ensuring incidents and claims are reported appropriately, information is gathered, and key updates are communicated to the Compliance & Insurance Team Manager.

About You

Experience within fleet compliance, transport, administration, or a similar environment would be desirable. We're looking for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and confident working with a range of documentation and compliance information.

You'll need good computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel and Word, and be comfortable working with internal systems and databases. Strong communication skills are important, as you'll work closely with depots, drivers, Transport Managers, and the wider Compliance & Insurance team. Most importantly, you'll be proactive, reliable, and able to spot discrepancies, follow procedures, and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
