Compliance Editor – Broadcast & On-Demand
Market rate - Inside IR35
6-month contract
London (hybrid, 3 days onsite)
We’re working with a leading global media and entertainment company, home to a portfolio of well-known channel brands and streaming services, to find an experienced Compliance Editor for a 6-month contract.
You’ll join an established compliance team within Business and Legal Affairs, making sure content is ready for broadcast and streaming across the UK and international markets. It’s a fast-paced, hands-on role handling a high volume of content across a wide range of genres, from entertainment and reality to factual, scripted and kids. You’ll need to view, flag and fix content independently.
What you’ll be doing
- Viewing a high volume and variety of commissioned and acquired content and identifying compliance issues against the Ofcom Broadcasting Code and other international regional regulations
- Making compliance edits yourself in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Producing accurate cut sheets and compliance notes without supervision
- Assessing content for scheduling, including time of day, the 9 pm watershed and pre-watershed suitability
- Applying age-appropriate ratings, guidance and content warnings, and making sure content suits the audience of each channel brand
- Identifying and fixing photosensitive epilepsy (PSE) issues, including working with Harding test results
- Preparing content for linear channels and on-demand platforms, each with their own requirements
- Versioning content for multiple territories, taking cultural and regulatory sensitivities into account
- Advising production and programming teams on compliance as commissions move through to delivery

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
