Description
The Compliance Executive will support the Compliance Manager and Senior Compliance Executive (Consumer Duty & Conduct) and wider compliance function in delivering effective oversight of Consumer Duty, Conduct Risk, Complaints and regulatory compliance requirements.
The role will help ensure that the business delivers good customer outcomes, embeds a strong conduct culture, and meets applicable regulatory expectations, including those of the FCA, Lloyd’s and other relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- To maintain compliance with any applicable UK or International statutory or regulatory obligation as required by the role. This includes but not limited to obligations arising from:
- The prudent management of the business.
- Placing due regard on the interests of customers.
- Observing rules on sanctions and financial crime.
- Regulatory requirements and local licensing restrictions.
Complaints
- Logging complaints and issuing complaint responses through the syndicate’s complaints system.
- Dealing with correspondence received from Lloyd’s or into the complaints inbox on new and ongoing complaints.
- Preparation of complaint file timelines, key issues, and summaries on newly notified complaints.
- Preparation of files that are escalated to Lloyd’s, the FOS or other Ombudsman/regulatory organisations.
- Assisting in the preparation of the monthly complaints report and other ad hoc reporting.
- Actioning items in the Complaints mailbox initially under the guidance of the Compliance Manager and Senior Compliance Executive (Consumer Duty & Conduct) but with the view of taking ownership of the Complaints inbox.

Conduct Risk & Consumer Duty
- Assisting in the preparation of Syndicate Management Committee (SMC) Conduct and Complaints MI.
- Support the Compliance Manager and Senior Compliance Executive (Consumer Duty & Conduct) with the ongoing development, implementation and monitoring of the Consumer Duty framework, including evidence of good customer outcomes.
- Assist the Compliance Manager and Senior Compliance Executive (Consumer Duty & Conduct) to analyse complaints, customer outcome data, and conduct MI to identify trends, root causes, risks, and areas for improvement.
- To assist in the production of PMA TOBAs and broker monitoring to ensure good customer outcomes.
- Assist with the annual Conduct Risk Assessments of each PMA syndicate.
- Assist with the annual Consumer Duty Board Report.

Skills, Knowledge, And Expertise
- Knowledge of general insurance and Lloyd’s.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Strong understanding of multiple software applications with Excel skills and very good capability in Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- REG Network operating experience.
- Good communicator able to build relationships with colleagues and partner organisations.
- Resourceful and able to apply own initiative in resolving issues.
- Strong planning and organisation skills with a keen attention to detail.
