The Role
This position will play a key role in ensuring the business remains aligned with evolving regulatory expectations, with a particular focus on FCA developments, regulatory policy interpretation, horizon scanning, and internal policy governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring relevant FCA regulatory developments and conducting structured horizon scanning.
- Translating regulatory change into clear, practical business requirements.
- Identifying policy, framework, and process gaps and supporting remediation activities.
- Producing regulatory interpretation papers and maintaining clear audit trails.
- Coordinating annual and ad hoc updates to compliance policies and procedures.
- Managing stakeholder contributions, version control, documentation standards, and governance review cycles.
- Reviewing and enhancing compliance policies to ensure clarity, consistency, completeness, and regulatory alignment.
- Acting as a key point of contact for regulatory and policy interpretation queries.
- Supporting regulatory engagement activities, including the coordination and completion of regulatory returns.

Candidate Profile

- Strong knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements relevant to insurance intermediaries.
- Minimum five years' experience within regulatory policy, regulatory reporting, or compliance functions, ideally within insurance or financial services.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and maintaining compliance policies and governance documentation.
- Good understanding of insurance distribution, wholesale broking environments, and emerging regulatory risks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple business areas.
