About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this person will play a key role in the delivery of Fluro's compliance framework, with a strong focus on providing hands-on regulatory and compliance advice to the business alongside maintenance of the day-to-day compliance activities including delivery of the annual compliance monitoring plan.

This role will suit someone that is comfortable applying their knowledge of regulation to real business use-cases, who can think creatively and is eager to support the business in the delivery of its mission to create a lasting, positive change in the credit industry.

Need to haves

  • Solid compliance experience gained within an FCA-regulated financial services firm (consumer credit or fintech experience an advantage)
  • Good working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework, including Consumer Duty, SMCR, CONC and DISP
  • Ability to provide clear, practical regulatory advice and constructive challenge to the business
  • Experience conducting compliance monitoring and outcomes testing, and tracking remediation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail

Nice to haves

  • Experience with SMCR administration (certifications, fitness and propriety assessments)
  • Exposure to financial crime frameworks (e.g. SAR review, MLRO support)
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. ICA Certificate/Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance)

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to deliver pragmatic compliance advice, and ensure product and service changes comply with relevant FCA rules and regulations
  • Conduct horizon scanning and provide balanced and practical advice to the business on new regulations
  • Translate regulatory requirements into easy to understand internal policies that are fit for purpose
  • Champion a customer focussed culture and provide pragmatic advice on Consumer Duty
  • Act as a “critical friend” to the business, ensuring that the compliance team is viewed positively and engaged as appropriate
  • Conduct compliance monitoring and outcomes testing, escalating findings and tracking remediation
  • Support internal/external audits, due diligence and contract reviews
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and administration
  • Deliver compliance training and advise on mandatory training requirements
