Transport Compliance Manager

Pay Rate: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum

Grade: M

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (flexibility required to meet operational needs)

Location: Totton, SO40 3NB

About The Role

At DHL Supply Chain, we're looking for a highly motivated Transport Compliance Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of transport compliance across our operation. You will play a key role in ensuring the business remains fully compliant with all legal, regulatory and company requirements, while driving a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of compliance and operational excellence.

✅ What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing compliance across a large-scale multi-drop dray delivery operation.
  • Ensuring all vehicles, trailers and equipment meet legal requirements, including servicing, inspections and MOT schedules.
  • Monitoring and managing driver compliance, including drivers' hours, tachograph infringements and Working Time Directive adherence.
  • Overseeing all transport compliance administration and coordinating LGV fleet maintenance and repair activities.
  • Investigating compliance issues and implementing corrective actions to minimise risk.
  • Producing compliance reports and analysing trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Working closely with operational teams, drivers and key stakeholders to maintain DHL's high standards of transport compliance and health & safety.
  • Supporting wider transport operations and other sites where required.

✅ What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience managing an LGV fleet within a fast-paced transport environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • CPC Transport Manager (International) qualification is desirable.
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Resilience and determination to drive compliance standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with drivers, operational teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple demands effectively.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office, Tachomaster and Microlise systems.
