Compliance Manager – Wild Nutrition

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee all aspects of quality, safety, and environmental compliance across Wild Nutrition’s manufacturing, supply chain, and retail operations. Working cross-functionally, this role ensures the business consistently meets all relevant laws, regulations, certifications, and internal policies—while upholding the ethical and sustainability standards that define us as a B Corp.

Responsibilities
Navigating the Regulatory Landscape
- Trend-spotting: Monitor UK, EU, and global food supplement regulations (FSA, EFSA, MHRA), spotting changes in vitamins, minerals, and botanicals and translating them into actionable business steps.
- Industry Liaison: Work closely with trade associations (HFMA, NPN) and regulatory bodies, ensuring Wild Nutrition stays ahead of compliance shifts.
- Global Growth: Champion compliance as we expand into new export markets.
Bringing Products to Life
- NDP & Marketing Alignment: Partner with New Product Development (NPD) and Marketing to ensure compliance without compromising efficacy or brand storytelling.
- Claim Champions: Manage health and nutrition claims register, ensuring compliance with FSA/EFSA while maximising impact.
- Label Perfection: Review and sign off on labels, marketing materials, and website content, ensuring text correctness and legal alignment per SKU.
- NPD Guardian: Oversee compliance gates for new product launches, guiding them from concept to retail shelf.

Technical & Quality Mastery
- QMS Leadership: Nurture and improve our Quality Management System (QMS), transforming SOPs into effective, digestible operational tools.
- Technical Documentation Custodian: Act as the repository for TDS (Technical Dossiers), MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), Certificates of Conformance, and manage product testing schedules.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes, turning complaints and non-conformances into learning opportunities for the entire business.
- Data-Driven Insights: Gather and analyse risk data to enhance future business decisions.
Badges of Honour (Certifications & Audits)
- Gold Standard Compliance: Maintain certifications including GMP, BRCGS, FSSC 22000, SALSA, Soil Association Organic, and Vegan Society.
- B Corp Advocacy: Actively support B Corp status, compiling environmental and social governance data to prove our business impact.
- Audit Confidence: Manage internal audits and host third-party certification audits with ease.
Ethical Supply Chain & Team Growth
- Vendor Assurance: Onboard and vet suppliers, ensuring they align with Wild Nutrition’s ethical, sustainability, and quality standards.
- Corporate Knowledge Sharing: Deliver compliance training sessions, fostering a company-wide culture of autonomous and accountable operations.
- Leadership Communication: Provide clear, structured reports on compliance health and risks to senior leadership.

Requirements
Essential
- Degree in: Nutrition, Food Science, Law, or Business
- 3–5+ years of hands-on compliance experience in food, nutraceuticals, or regulated FMCG sectors
- Deep knowledge of:
- UK/EU regulations for food supplements, labelling (FSA, EFSA)
- Global standards (BRCGS, FSSC 22000, SALSA, GMP)
- Practical skills:
- Writing SOPs, managing QMS systems
- CAPA and complaint handling with a continuous improvement mindset
- Attention to detail: Proven ability to spot finest compliance nuances (e.g., date-marking errors, regulatory omissions).
Collaboration Skills
- Natural bridge-builder, thriving when working across NPD, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in:
- B Corp reporting and sustainability frameworks
- Soil Association Organic, MSC, or Vegan Society standards
- Global exports (US, Canada, Australia) or MHRA borderline assessments
- Membership with professional bodies (IFST, RSB)
