About the Role
At Napo, we're building pet insurance the right way - and that means putting customers first. Our Compliance function is the backbone of that promise. You'll be the trusted owner of our day-to-day compliance, turning complex requirements into clear, pragmatic advice that helps our teams build with confidence. This is a two-person function with genuine autonomy - you'll build the frameworks, own the decisions and shape how Napo stays compliant as we scale.
This role reports to the Head of Risk & Compliance and works closely with Marketing, Customer Operations and Product. You'll have a direct line to decision-makers and the chance to influence how we build compliance into everything we do.
Why This Role Matters
In a scaling insurtech business, Compliance should help the business make good decisions and grow responsibly. We’re looking for someone who can translate regulation into practical solutions that protect customers while keeping progress moving. You’ll build systems and frameworks that did not exist before, solve real compliance challenges as we grow, and establish a culture where teams understand the why behind what they do.
What You'll Be Doing
Run the day-to-day compliance function:
- Give clear, timely advice on business compliance questions.
- Review and approve financial promotions and customer communications against FCA and Consumer Duty requirements.
- Manage our product governance processes as our products evolve.
- Deliver the compliance monitoring plan - agreeing actions and tracking them to closure.
- Keep policies, training and SMCR processes current and effective.
- Support DPO responsibilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
