Job Description

What's the role?

As Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Safety and Quality and have a solid knowledge of legislation and a desire to drive improvement. You will be able to work independently or as part of a team and will be accountable for ensuring that our safety and quality standards and procedures align with organisational best practice. You will also be responsible for establishing performance standards, procedures, training and coaching and audit controls to enable us to meet business requirements.

This is a hands on role which will require supporting depots and actively working alongside site colleagues to implement safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and paperwork.

Working Pattern - Monday - Friday 8-4pm

Main Responsibilities & Objectives:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the Safety & Quality Assurance procedures are complied with across the division and the constant drive for continuous improvement.
  • Performs inspections and audits at depot level.
  • Work with site representatives to manage Safety, Quality and Operating Procedures including all Hygiene Operations, allergen management and pest control.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop, maintain and produce reports related to the safety and quality function, i.e. non-conformances.
  • Support the sites to ensure the attainment of BRCGS & Organic certification at site following up any non-conformances.
  • To deliver the Company’s safety management systems, to advise on the performance of risk assessments and the review of SSOW to contribute recommendations for improvements.
  • To provide specialist safety advice to management on and control of health, safety and welfare matters and on the development of working practices that comply with relevant legislation.
  • Ensuring Depots adopt appropriate Health and Safety targets and standards for their own areas of responsibility in the control of loss and operation of best safety practice.
  • To analyse incident trends for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Level 3 HACCP qualification
  • Internal auditing qualification
  • BRCGS experience
  • Technical Member of IOSH
  • Excellent PC literacy skills, including Microsoft office applications
  • Good problem solving, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both within a team environment and individually working to tight deadlines
