Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of a Twinings Quality Manufacturing Standards with input from key stakeholders.
  • Regularly reviews compliance against Twinings Quality Manufacturing Standards as well as NC raised by third party audits.
  • Creates a network for sharing best practice: hygiene, NC’s, synergies of indirect supplies, on hold, waste reduction, training.
  • Ensures legal compliance through maintenance of coherent factory documentation across the Twinings manufacturing sites.
  • Enhances compliance through the development of a Twinings Global HACCP system and the development of a HACCP network.
  • Identifies emerging risk through horizon scanning, implements an emerging risk tracker and associated mitigation in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Participates at relevant technical meetings (trade associations (FDF & UKTIA) and ABF technical sub-groups).
  • Ensures ongoing compliance by providing a co-ordinated liaison between the regulatory and quality community in manufacturing. This includes the interpretation of emerging Food Safety and Quality related regulations that may impact Twinings product portfolio.
  • Co-ordinates the development and implementation a Twinings Quality and Food Safety academy, leveraging internal and external knowledge and resources.
  • Identifies and maintains a list of laboratories capabilities; challenge analytical testing results in different countries; collaborates with laboratories to identify best testing methodologies and emerging testing methods.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent (i.e. chemistry, biochemistry, food science, chemical engineering or other scientific subject is required).
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality management, food safety, analytical testing.
  • A strong understanding of the international (EU and beyond) regulatory framework and their application relating to pesticides and contaminants in food and agricultural products.
  • Must have experience of quality systems, ideally GFSI (BRC, IFS, FSSI) and GMP requirements and have hands-on experience in interacting with regulatory agencies.
  • Strong influencing skills with manufacturing experience within FMCG operations (i.e. food, beverages)
  • Have excellent numerical capability with a strong attention to detail & the ability to balance the bigger picture with the day-to-day detail.
