We’re hiring: Compliance Manager

Optio Group | London / HYBRID | Full time, 35 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced compliance professional who enjoys taking ownership, working closely with the business and helping a growing international insurance group maintain effective controls.

You’ll manage a varied portfolio of compliance work, covering monitoring reviews, product governance and fair value, SM&CR, regulatory applications, TOBAs and regulatory change.

You’ll also coordinate and line manage our two compliance administrators, setting priorities, allocating work, providing guidance and checking the quality and timeliness of delivery.

Working for the Head of Compliance, you’ll have scope to improve processes, support business change and take on broader responsibilities as the Group develops.

Role Definition

The Compliance Manager will take responsibility for allocated compliance activities, monitoring reviews and projects across Optio Group, supporting the Head of Compliance in maintaining effective controls and meeting regulatory obligations.

The Compliance Manager will provide practical compliance advice and challenge to the business, embed regulatory and conduct changes into policies, procedures and controls, and carry out ongoing assurance work. The role includes day-to-day line management of two compliance administrators.

What we’re looking for

  • Around five years’ relevant insurance compliance experience, ideally in an MGA, broker or Lloyd’s/London Market business.
  • Good working knowledge of FCA and Lloyd’s requirements, including product governance, Consumer Duty and SM&CR.
  • Experience of compliance monitoring, assessing incidents and following actions through to completion.
  • Experience of supervising colleagues or coordinating outsourced resources.
  • Sound judgement, clear communication and the confidence to provide constructive challenge.
  • A relevant insurance or compliance qualification, or equivalent practical experience, would be valuable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
