At NEXT Wholly Owned Brands, we’re a collective of London-based fashion and lifestyle brands. From our beginnings with Lipsy in 1998, to becoming part of the UK’s largest fashion retailer, NEXT, in 2008 we’ve evolved into a group of bold, design-led brands, each with its unique identity.

At the heart of our business is a passionate team driven by creativity, innovation, and a shared ambition to deliver exceptional results. We foster a culture where individuality is celebrated, curiosity is encouraged, and challenging the status quo is part of how we grow.

About the role

The Technical & Compliance Lead acts as the key strategic liaison between central NEXT and NEXT Wholly Owned Brands (WOB). This role is responsible for translating, implementing, and maintaining regulatory policies, compliance directives, and operational governance across all WOB business units. Operating across technical compliance, logistics, and data analytics, you will ensure total adherence to Restricted Substance Standards (RSS), manage business manuals, drive return-reduction strategies, support LIS system integration, and facilitate the seamless onboarding of new brand acquisitions.

Role responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact between NEXT and the WOB business units, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely translation of policies and compliance directives.
  • Manage, update, and maintain business manuals and policy documentation to ensure they align with legal standards and current corporate governance.
  • Monitor and ensure organisational adherence to RSS (Restricted Substance/Standards) and other operational guidelines across all teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyse return data, identify root causes, and implement strategies to reduce returns.
  • Conduct regular site visits to warehouse stakeholders to audit processes, share best practices, and drive operational consistency.
  • Provide support for LIS (Lipsy Interactive Systems) integration, ensuring seamless adoption and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Director to facilitate the onboarding process for new business units, ensuring integration alignment with NEXT WOB standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
