Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid Compliance Manager role. The Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing regulatory and internal compliance across estate and letting agency operations, including adherence to property, lettings, anti-money laundering, and data protection requirements.

  • Monitoring policies and procedures
  • Conducting regular audits of branch activities
  • Identifying risks
  • Implementing corrective actions where necessary
  • Drafting and updating compliance documentation
  • Training colleagues on regulatory changes
  • Providing clear guidance to managers and frontline teams
  • Working closely with senior leadership to report on compliance performance
  • Supporting continuous improvement
  • Ensuring best practice is embedded across all offices

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of UK property, lettings, and estate agency regulations, including consumer protection, anti-money laundering, and data protection requirements.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls within a regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to conduct audits, risk assessments, and investigations, and to implement practical remedial actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly to diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skills in training and coaching colleagues on compliance topics and promoting a culture of ethical conduct.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgment when interpreting regulations and making decisions.
  • Experience in estate agency, lettings, or financial services compliance is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort with using standard office software and compliance tools to document findings, maintain records, and prepare reports.
  • Relevant professional certification or training in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Bexleyheath, collaborate effectively with multiple branches, and manage competing priorities.
