Compliance Officer
Location: Thetford, Norfolk
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Day or evening Shift)
7am - 3pm or 3pm to 11pm with evening shift allowance
Department: Quality & Regulatory Compliance
Reporting To: Quality Manager
The Opportunity
An established manufacturer within the FMCG and consumer products sector is seeking a Compliance Officer to support quality, regulatory, and audit activities across the business. This role is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented professional with experience in compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs within a manufacturing environment.
You will play a key role in maintaining compliance standards, supporting external audits, ensuring full product traceability, and helping to drive continuous improvement across quality systems and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update compliance documentation in line with regulatory, customer, and certification requirements.
- Support external audits, including customer, certification body, and regulatory inspections.
- Ensure effective product traceability throughout the supply chain, from raw material receipt through to finished goods dispatch.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, quality, and logistics teams to maintain compliance across business operations.
- Conduct internal audits and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Investigate non-conformances, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure documentation control procedures are consistently followed.
- Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Assist with compliance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Previous experience in a compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
- Understanding of product traceability systems and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and document management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working within FMCG, chemical manufacturing, household products, personal care, or related industries.
- Knowledge of BRCGS or similar quality management standards.
- Familiarity with packaging compliance, sustainability requirements, or environmental reporting.
- Professional qualifications in quality or compliance, such as Lead Auditor or GMP certification.
