Compliance Specialist
London | Physical Commodities | Private International Trading Group
JCW Search are working with a privately held international commodities group to appoint a Compliance & Legal professional in London.
This is a broad, hands-on role within a lean global business, offering significant autonomy and exposure across the organisation. You’ll work closely with Trading, Operations and Finance, taking ownership of compliance and regulatory matters while supporting the business through its continued international growth.
The role
- Managing regulatory and exchange compliance requirements
- Leading counterparty onboarding, KYC/AML and ongoing due diligence
- Reviewing contractual documentation, including GTCs and other legal wording
- Supporting with disputes and assessing when external legal counsel is required
- Advising internal stakeholders on compliance and regulatory considerations
- Identifying and implementing improvements to the compliance framework
- Supporting the business as it expands into new markets and products

About you
- 3–5+ years’ relevant experience in compliance, ideally within commodities trading
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
- Good legal and contractual knowledge, with the ability to understand and assess commercial agreements
- Experience with onboarding, KYC/AML and counterparty due diligence
- Comfortable working independently and managing a varied remit
- Commercially minded, pragmatic and confident working with senior stakeholders
