Funding and Regulatory Compliance

• Understanding of funding rules across multiple areas of Funded Training, including, but not limited to, Adult Skills Fund, Free Courses for Jobs and Skills Bootcamps
• Understanding of evidence relating to learner eligibility and programme funding requirements
• Monitor compliance with relevant awarding organisation requirements
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant compliance requirements affecting the provision and contracts held

Compliance Systems and Documentation

• Utilise PICS to monitor compliance activity, action and compliance deadlines
• Maintain accurate compliance records, trackers and audit logs
• Ensure compliance actions are clearly documented and appropriately evidenced
• Ensure learner management systems contain accurate and complete compliance evidence

Key Accountabilities

The Compliance Officer will be accountable for:

• Completing assigned compliance checks within agreed timescales
• Maintaining accurate and reliable compliance records
• Identifying and escalating material compliance risks
• Ensuring compliance actions are appropriately tracked and followed through
• Supporting enrolment and operational teams to resolve compliance issues promptly
• Contributing to successful external audits and compliance reviews
• Maintaining professional knowledge of relevant funding, regulatory and contractual requirements

Essential Experience

• Experience working in a compliance, administration, audit or regulated operational environment
• Experience reviewing detailed documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Experience working with systems, records and data
• Experience working to deadlines and managing competing priorities
• Experience communicating effectively with colleagues across different teams

Desirable Experience

• Experience within Adult Skills, Skills Bootcamps, Apprenticeships, further education, qualifications or training
• Experience auditing learner records or programme documentation
• Experience working with government-funded provision
• Experience supporting external audits or compliance reviews

Qualifications

• Essential
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, filtering, sorting and data analysis), together with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams, to support compliance reporting, auditing and record management
• Desirable
  • Relevant compliance, audit or education and training qualification
  • Internal audit qualification
