Head of Compliance & AML – CMC Markets Cyprus - Limassol

This is an exciting opportunity to join CMC Markets, a leading global fintech, and play a pivotal role in our continued international growth.
The opportunity
As Head of Compliance & AML for CMC Markets Cyprus, you’ll lead the compliance function for a strategically important new project.
You’ll act as the strategic link between regulation and the business, embedding a strong culture of compliance across product, technology and operations.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Regulatory leadership: Ensure compliance with CySEC requirements and applicable legislation, including MiFID II, AMLD, GDPR and DORA.
- Framework development: Design, implement and maintain robust compliance policies, procedures and manuals tailored to the business.
- AML and KYC oversight: Establish and oversee the AML/KYC framework, including client onboarding, ongoing monitoring and regulatory reporting.
- Risk management: Lead comprehensive compliance risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Strategic advisory: Monitor regulatory developments and provide practical, forward-looking advice to senior management and the Board.
- Operational oversight: Oversee suitability assessments, client communications, marketing reviews and complaint-handling procedures.
- Culture and training: Promote a strong compliance culture through organisation-wide training, guidance and mentoring.
- Leadership: Build, lead and develop a high-performing local compliance team.

What we’re looking for
- At least five years’ experience leading Compliance or Risk functions within a CySEC-regulated environment, ideally within the CFD/FX industry.
- A CySEC Advanced Certificate and/or CySEC AML Certificate is mandatory.
- Deep knowledge of OTC products, including CFDs and Margin FX. Experience with transferable securities and/or crypto assets would be a significant advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance regulatory requirements with business growth.
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at Board level.
- Proven experience managing teams and delivering complex projects from the ground up.
- A degree in Law, Finance or a related discipline. An MSc or relevant professional qualification would be an advantage.
