About us

At Altery, we're building products that make finance feel seamless in a fragmented world. We build the technology that helps businesses and people move money across borders, currencies and digital assets, without the friction.

Behind every simple payment is a complex system, and a team that makes it work. We look for people who enjoy solving difficult problems, challenge each other with respect and care about doing great work.

We're now looking for a UK-based Compliance Officer to join our Compliance team as part of our Second Line of Defence. You'll test how well our controls really work, give practical advice to the business and help keep Altery Ltd safe, compliant and fair to customers as we grow.

What you'll be doing at Altery

  • Plan and deliver compliance monitoring reviews: agree the scope, risk assessment, sampling approach and test programme, carry out the fieldwork and issue clear reports on time.
  • Record findings with a clear root cause, risk impact, rating, owner and target date, follow remediation through and validate or re-test actions before recommending closure.
  • Escalate material issues and unresolved disagreements to the Head of Monitoring and Testing and the UK MLRO / Head of Compliance.
  • Act as a Second Line of Defence point of contact, giving practical, risk-based advice to Product, Customer Operations, IT and other teams on e-money, payments, conduct, AML/CTF, sanctions and Consumer Duty.
  • Help interpret FCA rules and guidance, and assess what new products, markets and customer journeys mean for us, including for vulnerable customers.
  • Run horizon scanning on regulatory developments, assess their impact and keep our regulatory change trackers and plans up to date.
  • Prepare accurate MI, dashboards and reports for senior management and Risk and Compliance Committees, and support regulatory returns, supervisory reviews and audits.
  • Draft and maintain compliance policies and procedures, and help build a strong compliance culture while keeping your independence from the First Line.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
