Are you passionate about ensuring that children in residential care homes receive an outstanding level of care?

Pebbles Care shares this passion, and we have a fantastic opportunity for a part-time Compliance Officer to work 20 hours per week, carrying out Regulation 44 Visits across our homes in Central Leeds and the Lancaster area

Your Role And Responsibilities As Compliance Officer

The role is home-based, with regular travel to an allocated cluster of homes.

  • You will be responsible for carrying out visits in various locations in accordance with Regulation 44.
  • You will strive to ensure the quality of the residential child care provided to our children aligns with the company vision of being an outstanding child care provider and meets all regulatory requirements.
  • You will communicate with, and offer support and guidance to, our Registered Managers regarding compliance, continual improvement, and best practice within the homes.
  • Your role will involve producing and recording detailed reports that provide factual, evidence-based recommendations with rigorous follow-ups.

What We Offer You

  • The salary for our part-time role is £22,711.00 per annum.
  • Hours of work are 20 hours per week, worked between Monday to Friday.

Essential qualities that we look for include:

  • Substantial experience of working in Children's Homes as a Registered Manager and/ or working in a social care regulatory position within an organisation such as Ofsted (England).
  • Previous experience in the role of Independent Visitor or a similar compliance monitoring role.
  • A substantial understanding and interpretation of the associated Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and Guidance (England).
  • An up-to-date knowledge around Children’s Safeguarding and relevant legislation.
  • Experience of communicating effectively with children and young adults.
  • Communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders including children’s social care professionals and parents.
  • A good working knowledge of compliance in relation to Health and Safety practices.
  • A consistent and professional manner,
  • An active and supportive listener,
  • A resilient nature when faced with difficult challenges,
  • Proficient IT skills and experienced in using Microsoft packages,
  • A full UK driver’s license and full-time access to a car.

Desirable qualities include:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Knowledge of Therapeutic parenting in residential child care.
