Compliance Officer
My client is seeking a detail-focused Compliance Officer to support the delivery of landlord safety and compliance programmes across a varied property portfolio. The role involves monitoring essential servicing, inspections and follow-up actions across key areas including gas, electrical safety, fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene and legionella, lifts, and damp and mould. You will ensure that all activity is progressed on time, records are accurate, and any risks or delays are escalated appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance calendars, forward programmes, and trackers, ensuring appointments, deadlines, and outstanding actions are actively managed.
- Liaise with contractors, issue work instructions, investigate missed or overdue visits, and manage routine no-access cases.
- Communicate clearly with customers about appointments and follow-up works.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Housing, Customer Services, Care, Digital, Finance, and Property teams to resolve access and data issues.
- Obtain, review, and store certificates, inspection reports, and compliance evidence, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
- Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, KPI updates, and exception summaries for management and governance forums.
- Support internal and external audit activity and maintain action plans arising from inspections, audits, and contractor meetings.

Requirements
- CIH Level 3 or equivalent experience in property management or maintenance.
- Experience in compliance, property, asset management, health and safety, or regulated services.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and confidence in analysing compliance data.
- Professional communication skills with customers, contractors, and colleagues.
- Competency using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn housing and compliance systems.
- Experience in social housing or landlord compliance.
- Relevant qualification in housing, property, compliance, or health and safety would be advantageous.
