We are recruiting a Compliance Officer for a well-established global consumer technology and home appliance business, based at their UK head office in Leeds.

This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety and wants genuine ownership across governance, data protection and contract management. Strong organisation and project management skills matter more here than technical drafting. Much of the role is about keeping multiple workstreams moving, tracking deadlines and bringing structure to the way things are recorded. You will act as the coordination point between the UK business, overseas Group Compliance functions in Europe and Asia, and external legal advisers, making sure the company operates in line with UK legislation, internal governance standards and Group expectations. You will support the Vice President and the wider UK management team, working closely with colleagues across HR, IT, Customer Service and Commercial.

The Role

Corporate Governance

  • Maintain company governance records and statutory filings at Companies House.
  • Coordinate internal reviews of management standards, policies, procedures and delegations of authority.
  • Provide data and responses to government agencies, including the Office for National Statistics.
  • Support ad-hoc legal and regulatory projects across the business.

Compliance

  • Data protection and information security: act as first point of contact for UK Data Subject Access Requests, ensuring timely and lawful responses. Support GDPR compliance including privacy notices, vendor due diligence and data-sharing agreements. Work with HR, IT and Customer Service to strengthen data handling and retention. Liaise with external counsel and the Group Data Protection Office on escalated matters.
  • Competition law: coordinate the annual compliance cycle, including training, declarations and reporting.
  • Modern slavery: lead coordination of the annual Modern Slavery Statement, supplier due diligence and internal awareness activity.
  • Support compliance training, monitoring and awareness programmes across departments.
  • Assist with periodic compliance audits and reporting for Group and external auditors.
  • Prepare regular compliance status reports for management.
  • Monitor developments in UK legislation across competition, consumer protection and data privacy, and communicate relevant updates internally.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
