This role bridges hands-on compliance work with operational team leadership, directly reporting to the UK & European Engineering Support & Compliance Manager while leading a small but dedicated compliance team.

Core Strengths of this position

  • Clear accountability structure. You will own the day-to-day (DART the accounts risk tracking platform) compliance system operations, team performance, and operational compliance delivery while your manager handles strategic direction, complex regulatory interpretation, and senior stakeholder management.
  • Appropriate developmental scope. Leading up to 5 people provides a manageable span of control for transitioning into formal management. The role balances maintaining technical expertise with building leadership capability; you will stay hands-on while developing others.
  • Strategic exposure. Direct reporting relationship provides visibility into regional compliance strategy, stakeholder management, and decision-making that accelerates leadership development beyond pure operational roles.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key Accountabilities

  • DART System Ownership: Primary responsibility for data integrity, compliance trend identification, audit readiness, and escalation tracking. This positions you as the compliance intelligence guardian.
  • Team Leadership: Capability development, workload distribution, performance coaching, and making sound escalation decisions with appropriate context.
  • Compliance & Operations: First-line technical escalation, regulatory monitoring, cross-functional coordination with JLL/HSBC/vendors, and surfacing systemic issues requiring senior management attention.

Critical Success Factors

  • The role requires judgment beyond technical knowledge:
    • Sound escalation decisions - knowing what to handle at the team level versus when to involve your manager.
    • Effective delegation with quality oversight - building team capability while maintaining delivery standards.
    • Actionable upward intelligence - distilling operational complexity into insights that inform strategic decisions.
    • Balancing competing demands - team development against operational urgency, hands-on involvement against delegation.

Experience Requirements

  • Required: 3-5 years operations/compliance with 1+ year supervisory experience, regulatory knowledge, stakeholder influence capability, performance management skills.
  • Preferred: Corrigo database experience, LOLER/PUWER exposure, compliance management software proficiency, remote team management.

Experience levels of the position are appropriately calibrated for emerging leaders with operational confidence ready for formal authority.
