Compliance Technician – Estates Delivery

About the Role

As a Compliance Technician, you’ll become a key member of the Estates Delivery discipline within UK Defence Operations. This role focuses on delivering high-quality Estates Maintenance services to customers while upholding strict compliance standards.

Your primary responsibility will be coordinating and leading key compliance activities across the site, including:

  • Acting as the responsible or competent person for asbestos, legionella, and F-Gas management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Building Services tasks as directed by Delivery Leads and Functional Managers.
  • Coordinate legionella management by ensuring:
    • Effective maintenance of site risk assessments.
    • Implementation and monitoring of control regimes.
    • Ongoing performance tracking.
  • Coordinate asbestos management, including:
    • Maintenance of site registers.
    • Inspection programmes.
    • Training and communication needs.
  • Coordinate F-Gas management, covering:
    • Site registers and inspection programmes.
    • Training and awareness requirements.
  • Analyse compliance performance, identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

  • Understanding of asbestos, legionella, and F-Gas management requirements.
  • Strong grasp of key health & safety legislation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and IT applications.
  • Ability to make informed, independent decisions.
  • Commitment to personal and process continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ in engineering/technical studies (or similar) OR
  • Recent relevant administrative experience in a compliance-adjacent role.

About the Mod Location

MOD Boscombe Down is a pioneering site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Focused on aviation and aerospace system testing, evaluation, and support, this location is central to the UK’s defence aviation sector. It contributes to the development, testing, and airworthiness of military aircraft, enhancing operational effectiveness.

Note: All applicants must be eligible for SC Security Clearance.

Working Arrangements

  • 37 hours per week (Boscombe Down).
  • Minimum 5-day site attendance (compressed hours available).
