Location: Blackburn Pay: 12.75ph Hours: 40hrs per week

Exciting opportunity alert! We are looking for a Composite Door Fabricator to join our busy production team in Blackburn. If you are practical, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a hands-on manufacturing environment, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

As a Composite Door Fabricator, you will support the production of high-quality composite doors, ensuring products are assembled accurately and meet customer and company standards. This role is suited to an organised and reliable individual with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and an interest in production or manufacturing.

Key responsibilities - composite door fabricator

  • Fabricate and assemble composite doors in line with production specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare door components, frames, hardware, glazing units, and other materials for assembly.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safely and effectively.
  • Measure, cut, and fit materials accurately to ensure doors are produced to the required specification.
  • Install locks, hinges, handles, letter plates, thresholds, and other door hardware.
  • Check completed doors for quality, finish, dimensions, and correct operation before dispatch.
  • Identify and report defects, damaged materials, or production issues to the supervisor or production manager.
  • Follow job sheets, manufacturing instructions, and production schedules accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised production area, including appropriate storage of tools and materials.
  • Work efficiently as part of a production team to meet daily output and delivery requirements.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, manual handling guidance, and company procedures at all times.

Essential skills and experience - composite door production

  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, fabrication, joinery, or construction environment is desirable.
  • Practical experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to read and follow measurements, job sheets, drawings, and production instructions.
  • Good manual dexterity and the ability to handle materials safely.
  • Physically fit and able to lift and move door components in line with manual handling guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy production team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for completing production paperwork and checking specifications.
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY, a can-do attitude and a desire to learn!
