Pay rate: Circa £20 per hour, subject to experience
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for experienced Composite Laminators to join NP Aerospace on a temporary basis until the end of December 26 to support an exciting new project.
This is a hands-on production role working with advanced composite materials used in high-performance structural composite products. You will be responsible for preparing, laying up, bagging, demoulding and tool preparation to manufacture composite components in line with work instructions, technical drawings and production requirements.
You will need to be confident working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, safety, traceability and right first-time production are essential. The role would suit someone with previous experience in composites, carbon fibre, automotive, aerospace, motorsport, defence or another technical manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
In this role, you will carry out a range of composite manufacturing tasks to support safe, consistent production and strong product quality. The key duties and responsibilities are outlined below.
Composite Laminator
- Carry out composite laminating, layup and bagging of components in line with work instructions and production schedules.
- Prepare materials, tools and work areas before starting production tasks.
- Support vacuum bagging and curing processes, including autoclave and oven cure related activity where trained and authorised.
- Inspect work during and after production to ensure components meet the required quality standard.
- Work from technical drawings, work instructions, process specifications and manufacturing documentation.
- Record production information accurately, including time bookings, and material traceability information

Quality, safety and teamwork
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures, PPE requirements and safe working practices for composite materials.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in clean rooms and production areas.
- Report defects, quality concerns, equipment issues or process problems promptly.
- Work closely with Team Leaders, Quality and other production colleagues to resolve issues and maintain output.
- Support continuous improvement activity by identifying practical ways to improve quality, efficiency and production flow.
- Share knowledge and support other team members where required.

EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Previous experience working as a Composite Laminator or in a similar composite manufacturing role.
- Experience with composite layup, laminating and bagging processes.
- Experience working with carbon fibre prepreg or other advanced composite materials.
- Able to follow technical drawings, work instructions and process specifications accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with a clear commitment to product quality and traceability.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.
Desirable
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, motorsport, defence, specialist vehicles or another high-quality manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in clean rooms or controlled production areas.
- Experience using hand and power tools for trimming, routing, drilling, abrading or assembly work.
- Experience using structural composite adhesives and bonding composite components using jigs and fixtures to create higher level composite assemblies.
- Experience with autoclave and oven curing processes.
- Experience using SAP or similar systems for production bookings, time recording or traceability.
