Piran Composites are an advanced carbon fibre manufacturing company producing high specification components and structures for aerospace and defence OEMs. We are seeking a composite operative to undertake a variety of tasks within the production environment. Training will be provided for each task you will be expected to perform, however, ability to be able to work “hands on” with a background in engineering/manufacturing would be beneficial.
Some examples of the tasks you will be performing below:
- Cutting and kitting of carbon fibre raw material
- Laying up on carbon fibre materials into mould tools
- Releasing of carbon composite components from moulds
- Cleaning/sealing/applying release agents to mould tools
- Bonding/assembly of components
- Installing mechanical hardware
- Vacuum bagging/demoulding components
- Trimming components by hand using air tools
- General cleaning and tidying of the work areas
- Maintaining and completing relevant paperwork
- Aid various production departments with tasks such as manual lifting and fitting, gluing, machine maintenance, packaging and documentation

- You may be be required to work early shift or late shift. 0600-1400. 1430-2200 -We also have night shift vacancies 2200-0600 with a shift premium of x1.33 per hour
To succeed in this role you will require good communication skills, ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge in correct methods, be a team player, good time keeping and be able to work under pressure but also in a relaxed environment. Experience and skill operating computers and MS office a plus. This is a good opportunity for someone to come in and integrate themselves into the team environment. With the right attitude and ambition there is scope to become highly skilled and well trained with plenty of further opportunity in the company to grow.
