CAD Designer

Location: Bury
Salary: £38,000
Full-Time | Permanent

We are looking for a talented and detail-focused CAD Designer to join our growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of products, supporting both production and sales functions while working on a variety of projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

If you have strong 2D and 3D CAD design experience and enjoy seeing your designs move from concept through to production, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings, managing engineering change requests, supporting manufacturing processes, and ensuring all design documentation is maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
  • Provide technical support to production and sales teams on a day-to-day basis.
  • Generate part numbers, Bills of Materials (BoMs), assembly instructions, and production visual aids.
  • Implement engineering changes and supplier/customer change requests.
  • Liaise with third-party manufacturers, issuing DXF, STEP files, and technical drawings.
  • Support budget and cost control activities across projects.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the design and production process.
  • Ensure compliance with bodybuilding guidelines and operational requirements.
  • Manage the approval process for new product samples and product revisions.
  • Maintain company ISO standards and quality documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure project success.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
