CAD Technician

Location: Rugeley (WS15), Staffordshire

Salary: £30,000

Job Type: Full-time

Build a Career That Makes a Real Difference

Are you ready to put your CAD skills to work on projects that have a real impact?

We're looking for a CAD Technician to join a growing engineering team delivering innovative wastewater treatment and environmental engineering projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your technical skills while working alongside experienced engineers on projects from initial concept through to construction.

Whether you're a Civil Engineering graduate with some industry experience or an early-career CAD Technician looking to broaden your knowledge, this role offers genuine progression and the chance to become involved in every stage of the design process.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the design team, you'll help produce technical drawings and support the delivery of engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing accurate 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Developing layouts for pipework, drainage, chambers, and associated civil works.
  • Creating general arrangement drawings, sections, detailed drawings, and construction packages.
  • Interpreting topographical surveys, site information, and existing drawings.
  • Assisting with hydraulic design calculations and engineering design work.
  • Preparing drawings and technical information for construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Supporting engineers with design development and project delivery.
  • Updating drawings to reflect site changes and design revisions.
  • Working closely with engineers, project managers, clients, and contractors.
  • Maintaining accurate drawing records and project documentation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
