CNC Machinist – 5 Axis

Location: West Sussex
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £19–£23 per hour

We're supporting a leading precision engineering company that delivers high-performance components for the motorsport and Formula 1 sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist with 5-Axis machining expertise to join a highly skilled team working on innovative projects.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Set up and operate 5-Axis CNC machines to manufacture high-precision components.
  • Machine complex parts to strict tolerances and quality standards.
  • Work with advanced materials, including carbon fibre.
  • Carry out quality inspections and ensure components meet specification.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve machining challenges and improve processes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
  • Support offline programming activities where applicable (highly desirable).

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience operating and setting up 5-Axis CNC machines.
  • Strong knowledge of Heidenhain controls.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
  • Experience producing motorsport, aerospace, or other high-precision components.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Offline programming experience is an advantage.

  • Permanent position.
  • Competitive hourly rate of £19–£23 per hour.
  • 20 days annual leave.
  • Four-day working week (Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts).
