The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position based at LFF Spromak Engineering’s facility in Liverpool. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machinery to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Selecting appropriate tooling
- Adjusting machine settings
- Performing test runs
- Inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality and safety standards
The role involves collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams to optimize machining processes, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate production records. The CNC Machinist will also be responsible for:
- Routine machine maintenance
- Adherence to health and safety procedures
- Continuous improvement of machining methods and productivity
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery handling, including safe setup, operation, and basic maintenance of CNC equipment.
- Proficiency in Machining and Milling, with experience working to tight tolerances and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience in Quality Control, including dimensional inspection, use of measuring tools, and documentation of results.
- Background in precision manufacturing or engineering environments, ideally within oil, gas, defense, or nuclear sectors.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, CNC programs, and process documentation.
- Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across production, engineering, and quality functions.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in machining, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
