Role Description
The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in Leeds. The role involves creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs for milling and machining operations to produce precision components according to technical drawings and specifications.

Day-to-day tasks include:

- Selecting appropriate tooling
- Setting up machines
- Performing test runs
- Adjusting programs to improve quality, efficiency, and cycle times
The CNC Programmer will collaborate with engineers and machinists to resolve technical issues, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and maintain accurate documentation of programs and setups. The role also includes routine inspection of parts, troubleshooting machine or program errors, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
Qualifications
- Strong CNC Programming skills used to create and optimize machine code for production.
- Machining and Milling skills to understand practical manufacturing processes and machine capabilities.
- Technical Drawing skills to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications accurately.
- Experience with CNC machine setup, tooling selection, and basic machine maintenance.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Ideally, prior experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Relevant vocational training or qualifications in machining, manufacturing engineering, or a related field; apprenticeship or equivalent experience is beneficial.
