Senior Computer Technician — Four Vacancies

Minko’s Macs is recruiting four experienced Senior Computer Technicians for our London stores: two full-time and two part-time roles.

Pay and working arrangements

  • Starting pay: £15 per hour plus performance bonuses.
  • Up to £17 per hour for exceptional candidates who can demonstrate successful shop management, excellent independently verifiable customer feedback, advanced repair skills, strong commercial results, Google Ads knowledge or website/ecommerce maintenance experience.
  • Full-time roles are based on eight-hour working days.
  • Permanent, temporary and suitable self-employed arrangements may be considered. Employment status will reflect the actual working arrangement and applicable UK rules.
  • Candidates must be able to work across branches in North, East, South and West London when required.

The role

This is a senior, commercially focused position for a dependable technician who can manage their own workload, maintain a professional store, complete high-quality repairs, communicate clearly with customers and contribute directly to revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair Apple Macs, laptops, desktop computers and related devices.
  • Complete screen, battery, keyboard, charging-port and other hardware repairs to a consistently high standard.
  • Test, clean, prepare and present repaired and refurbished devices professionally.
  • Manage repair workloads independently and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Give customers accurate diagnoses, progress updates and collection information.
  • Maintain complete repair, customer and collection records.
  • Record daily cash and card income accurately and assist with routine accounting records.
  • Maintain stock, parts and device inventories using Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheets.
  • Identify parts required and follow approved sourcing procedures.
  • Keep the store organised, professional and commercially productive.
  • Generate sales, recognise genuine customer needs and convert suitable enquiries into profitable work.
  • Protect the company’s reputation through excellent workmanship, communication and service.

Essential requirements

  • Around ten years of relevant commercial computer-repair, technical-retail or store-management experience.
  • Completed degree-level education, or exceptionally strong equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong spoken and written English, with excellent reading, writing and record-keeping skills.
  • Advanced practical knowledge of computer diagnosis, component replacement and quality control.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills and confidence maintaining accurate spreadsheets.
  • Proven sales ability and understanding of revenue, margin and commercial targets.
  • Excellent timekeeping, reliability, organisation and ability to work without constant supervision.
  • A good professional reputation and verifiable references.
  • Ability to work across multiple London locations.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Higher-rate experience

Applicants may qualify for up to £17 per hour where they can demonstrate successful management of a computer-repair or technology store, excellent independently verifiable customer feedback, strong sales results, advanced diagnostic skills, Google Ads experience, website maintenance, ecommerce administration, stock control or accounting skills.
