LittleTutorHouse provides small group and 1-to-1 lessons, in-centre and online options, and tailored learning plans, including support with 11+ preparation and UCAS applications. The Computer Science GCSE Tutor will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons to GCSE students in an on-site setting at LittleTutorHouse in London. This part-time role involves planning and teaching Computer Science topics, including core theory, practical problem-solving, and programming skills, in both small group and 1-to-1 formats.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing lesson materials
- Setting homework
- Supporting revision and exam preparation
- Maintaining clear communication with students, families, and the centre’s staff
The tutor is expected to create a supportive, professional learning environment that promotes confidence, independent study skills, and improved academic outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and familiarity with GCSE specifications.
- Competence in Programming and related computational thinking skills suitable for GCSE level.
- Ability to support Mathematics concepts that underpin Computer Science learning.
- Proven Tutoring experience or teaching experience with school-age learners.
- Clear and professional Communication skills for working with students and families.
- Relevant degree or ongoing study in Computer Science, Computing, STEM, or a related field.
- Experience with UK school curricula and GCSE exam preparation is highly desirable.
- DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive teaching.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to tailor lessons to diverse learning needs.
