Role Description

The Computer Science Tutor role at Tutors Today is a remote, contract position focused on supporting learners in computer science and related subjects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging online lessons
  • Explaining complex concepts in accessible ways
  • Adapting teaching methods to meet different learning styles and academic levels

  • Providing constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement
  • Maintaining clear communication with students (and where relevant, parents or guardians)

Qualifications

  • Strong subject-matter knowledge in Computer Science and related fields
  • Proficiency in Programming and the ability to guide students through coding tasks and projects
  • Solid foundation in Mathematics to support algorithmic thinking and problem solving
  • Effective Communication and Tutoring skills to explain concepts clearly and build learner confidence
  • Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience, preferably with GCSE or A-level students
  • Comfort with remote teaching tools and online learning platforms
  • Ability to plan structured lessons, manage time effectively, and work independently
  • Relevant academic background (e.g., studying or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline)
