Job Description

Job Role: Concierge Security Officer

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, nights (19:00-7:00) – Average 42 hours per week

Pay: £14.80 per hour

Location: The Elephant, Elephant & Castle, London

Anchor Group Services is recruiting Concierge Security Officers for The Elephant, a landmark mixed-use development at the heart of Elephant & Castle. Bringing together retail, residential and public spaces, The Elephant is set to become a vibrant destination where residents, visitors, retailers and communities come together.

This is a unique opportunity to join a flagship London mobilisation from day one, helping to establish standards, culture and service excellence across a brand-new development. As a Concierge Security Officer, you will play a key role in creating a safe, secure and welcoming environment within the residential buildings, delivering exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, contractors and guests while maintaining the highest standards of security and professionalism.

About The Role

As a Concierge Security Officer, you will play a key role in creating a safe, secure and welcoming environment within The Elephant's residential buildings. Combining front-of-house customer service with professional security duties, you will manage access control, monitor CCTV systems, support residents and visitors, and respond to incidents and enquiries when required.

You will be a visible ambassador for both Anchor Group Services and The Elephant, delivering a professional, approachable and high-quality service at all times.


Duties Include

  • Provide a professional front-of-house presence, welcoming residents, visitors, contractors and guests whilst delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Manage access control systems, visitor management processes and building security, ensuring only authorised personnel gain entry.
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, responding to incidents, emergencies and welfare concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular patrols of residential buildings and communal areas, reporting defects, hazards and maintenance concerns as required.
  • Manage deliveries, parcel handling and contractor access, ensuring site procedures and permit-to-work requirements are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records, investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports where necessary.
  • Support emergency evacuations, business continuity procedures and the overall safety and security of the development.
  • Work collaboratively with the site teams while acting as a professional ambassador for the client and Anchor Group Services.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Valid frontline SIA Door Supervisor (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) Licence.

Desirable:

  • CCTV Licence and/or previous CCTV/control room experience.
  • Previous concierge, front-of-house, or residential experience.
  • Experience within residential or mixed-use developments.

Other:

  • Full 5-year checkable employment history.
  • Previous security experience within retail, corporate, residential or public-facing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Customer service experience and confidence handling conflict professionally.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible approach to shift work including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Professional appearance and high personal standards.
