Role Description
The Concrete Finisher will work on-site across the UK in a full-time capacity, supporting a variety of construction and civils projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Preparing and setting up concrete forms
- Placing, screeding, and finishing concrete surfaces
- Ensuring correct levels, slopes, and textures for slabs, foundations, and other structures
- Using hand tools and power tools
- Assisting with the installation and removal of formwork
- Coordinating with site supervisors and other trades to complete tasks safely and efficiently

The role also involves inspecting completed work for quality, following site safety procedures, and helping maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Practical experience with concrete flatwork, including placing, screeding, floating, and finishing
- Knowledge of formwork systems and basic carpentry skills for building and stripping forms
- Ability to safely operate relevant power tools and use heavy equipment associated with concrete work, as appropriate
- Understanding of construction site safety practices and willingness to follow company health and safety policies
- Strong attention to detail, ability to read basic site drawings, and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
- Reliable timekeeping, ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and capability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Prior experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar construction role; industry-recognized training or certifications are an advantage
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport to Gurney Slade are beneficial
