About The Role
Motability Operations are currently recruiting for a Condition Management Team Manager to join our team in Bristol on a full-time, permanent basis. The Condition Management Team Manager is responsible for the leadership, performance and strategic development of a specialist team responsible for assessing approximately 60,000 + vehicle damage claims across de-fleeted used lease vehicles.
This role combines people leadership, technical expertise, quality governance, operational performance and continuous improvement.
The Condition Management Team Manager will be accountable for ensuring that vehicle damage assessments are accurate, consistent, evidence-based and aligned with our remarketing standards, whilst delivering an effective and commercially balanced service to customers and the wider business.
The role requires an individual with deep knowledge of vehicle condition, leasing and remarketing, combined with proven experience of coaching high-performing teams within a complex operational environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to bring credible technical expertise, strong leadership, commercial awareness and a continuous-improvement mindset, whilst acting as a key point of escalation for complex condition and damage assessment decisions.
About You
You’re a confident and experienced people leader who knows what great looks like in a high-volume operational environment. You’ll bring a strong understanding of the vehicle lifecycle and the judgement to make, and support others in making, fair and consistent decisions when it comes to vehicle condition. You’re naturally curious and look beyond the day-to-day, using insight, customer feedback and operational performance to spot opportunities and find more effective ways of working. You’ll be comfortable leading through change, challenging constructively and influencing others to achieve the right outcome. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who brings energy, accountability and clarity to a specialist team maintaining an already high performing team culture where people feel trusted to perform, supported to develop and empowered to deliver consistent and high quality outcomes.
Minimum Criteria
- Significant experience within vehicle leasing, fleet, automotive remarketing or a closely related environment.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle condition, damage assessment and the de-fleet/remarketing lifecycle.
- Previous hands-on experience working within a vehicle operational environment, including identifying and categorising vehicle damage.
- Strong understanding of vehicle damage severity and the ability to determine appropriate repair requirements and likely costs.
- Proven experience assessing vehicle condition using imagery and other evidence.
- Strong working knowledge of condition standards (such as BVRLA) and their application to vehicle condition assessments.
- Proven experience managing and developing a high-performing operational team.
- Demonstrable experience of coaching teams to make consistent decisions against defined standards.
- Experience operating across both office-based and vehicle operational/workshop environments.
- Experience managing high-volume operational workloads with clear SLAs, KPIs and quality measures.
- Strong experience using data to identify trends, understand performance and support decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

We operate hybrid working across the organisation where we split our time between working on-site at our offices, and at home, remotely within the UK.
