The role
As a Condition Monitoring Integration Engineer, you will help ensure that monitoring equipment and data provide reliable insight into the condition and performance of our electricity network assets. You will connect engineering needs with monitoring technology and operational data systems, developing practical data structures and visualisations that help colleagues use monitoring information effectively.
You will
- Define the engineering and data requirements for integrating new and existing condition-monitoring equipment into AVEVA PI and other approved operational data systems.
- Work with PI tags, Asset Framework structures and PI Vision to organise monitoring data, develop routine displays and calculations, and ensure information is clear and suitable for engineering use.
- Validate monitoring data and investigate missing, unreliable, incorrectly scaled or incorrectly mapped signals, identifying the likely source of problems and coordinating their resolution.
- Support project design, testing, commissioning and handover, ensuring point schedules, configurations, asset identifiers, test evidence, support ownership and known limitations are properly documented.
- Improve the reliability and consistency of condition monitoring by recovering incomplete or underperforming integrations and developing reusable requirements, templates, checks and technical guidance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
