Role Description

To support and act as deputy to the Chief Compliance & Corporate Affairs Officer (CCCO), providing leadership within the Compliance Department and ensuring proactive, pragmatic second-line compliance oversight across Allianz UK's regulated entities.

You will lead on regulatory engagement with FCA and PRA, conduct risk oversight, compliance technical advice and policy interpretation, SM&CR and Horizon scanning, and reporting to relevant committees.

This is a hybrid role, based in London

Salary Information

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • Supports the CCCO in driving the strategy of the Compliance function, representing and deputising for the CCCO as required
  • Lead the Conduct and Regulatory Affairs team in the delivery of timely and pragmatic support for regulatory engagement and interpretation of regulatory requirements
  • Leads the team in provision of all compliance and conduct reporting to the relevant Committees
  • Proactively leads the engagement with the UK regulators, ensuring quality and timely responses to requests
  • Leads the team in provision of horizon scanning of UK regulator publications, providing timely and relevant analysis
  • Represents the CCCO and advises the business in relation to projects and initiatives, working with the Business Partnering team to provide seamless advice to business areas
  • Leads the second line compliance technical interpretation of regulatory change and technical review of regulatory market studies/thematic reviews and information requests
  • Provides technical assessment of business incidents and breaches, with technical input working with the Business Partnering team

  • Extensive knowledge of EU and UK financial services regulatory developments.
  • Well-developed Influencing skills with the ability to manage stakeholders across multiple business areas and levels of seniority
  • Advanced communication skills, able to produce clear, accurate, concise and risk-based analysis and reporting
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, ability to work proactively and under pressure.
  • Ability to lead teams to work efficiently and effectively
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate multiple sources of information
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with stakeholders at all levels, up to and including Board level.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of financial services / a Compliance / Risk /Legal function.
  • Leadership, management and financial budgeting experience.
  • Working with financial services regulators and or other relevant external stakeholders.
  • Non-compliance related operational or strategic role experience.
  • Excellent report writing skills
