Job Details
Full time, permanent role
Salary: £30,366 per annum for 36.25 hours per week
Downing College is seeking an organised, customer-focused, and proactive Conference and Events Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced events professional to play a key role in delivering a varied programme of conferences, meetings, functions, and accommodation bookings. Working closely with clients from initial enquiry through to event completion, the postholder will ensure every event is delivered to the highest standard, providing exceptional service and creating positive experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Have proven experience in conference, events, or hospitality operations
- Have excellent organisational skills
- Be able to manage multiple bookings and priorities simultaneously
- Be confident communicating with a wide range of people
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Be adept at solving logistical challenges in a practical and professional manner
- Have experience of accommodation reservations and event management systems

Job Description
The Conference and Events Coordinator role is a permanent, full-time, office-based position, working 36.25 hours per week. These hours are expected to be worked Monday to Friday, starting at 9.00am and finishing at 4.45pm with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.
The annual salary is £30,366 per annum for 36.25 hours per week (Step 36 on the College Salary Scale).
