The DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport is conveniently located within the airport complex, making it an excellent choice for pre-flight stays. It also benefits from excellent transport links to the city centre, whether you're visiting for business or leisure. The hotel offers a range of amenities including an on-site restaurant and bar - Lavelle, room service, a fitness centre, free Wi-Fi, flexible meeting and event spaces, and an airport shuttle service.

We are looking for a proactive, sales-driven, and guest-focused Conference and Events Sales Executive to generate business and drive event sales. In this role, you will manage client inquiries, build strong relationships, and ensure the seamless booking of conferences, meetings, and special events.

Your role

As a Conference and Events Sales Executive, you will play a key role in securing new business, managing event bookings, and working closely with clients to deliver memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Handling inbound conference and event inquiries, converting leads into confirmed bookings.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and key stakeholders.
  • Preparing and delivering proposals, contracts, and event function sheets with attention to detail.
  • Conducting site visits and hosting potential clients to showcase event spaces and services.
  • Working closely with the operations and food & beverage teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Identifying opportunities to upsell additional services, increasing revenue per event.
  • Tracking sales performance and providing reports on bookings, pipeline activity, and market trends.
  • Collaborating with marketing and revenue teams to support promotional campaigns and seasonal offers.
  • Monitoring competitor activity and market trends to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Ensuring all client requests are met with professionalism and efficiency.

The ideal person for this role

  • Will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details, and trusting.

The Core Skills And Experience Required To Succeed

  • Previous experience in event sales, hospitality sales, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a results-driven approach to sales.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a guest-focused attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple event bookings simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales or event management software.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure business and maximize revenue.
  • A proactive and organized approach with strong attention to detail.
