Job Description

Ramada Plaza Wrexham is seeking an outgoing and organised Conference & Events Coordinator to support the Meetings & Events Sales Office Manager in the daily running of a busy events department.

This role would suit an experienced Conference & Events Coordinator or someone with strong Conference & Banqueting operational experience who is looking to move into a coordination and sales support role. The successful candidate will be confident, customer-focused, highly organised, and passionate about delivering outstanding events.

  • 4-5 Days a week
  • Primarily office hours with some flexibility needed for evening and weekend work as required

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming conference, meeting, wedding, and event enquiries
  • Conduct show-arounds and face-to-face appointments with prospective and existing customers, acting as a key point of contact throughout their journey
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, invoices, and function sheets
  • Ensure all event details are accurately communicated to all hotel teams
  • Offer general support to the sales team by identifying new opportunities, helping with promotions, and assisting with wedding fairs and networking events where required
  • Take ownership of special events such as Christmas

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Outgoing, personable, and confident when dealing with clients in person, over the phone, and via email
  • Proactive with the ability to take the initiative and work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to manage and maintain event diaries using hotel systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Rezlynx would be a bonus

Experience

  • Event planning or hotel operations: 1 year (preferred)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as event schedules require.
  • Previous experience in a similar events or hospitality role and relevant education or training in events, tourism, or hospitality are preferred.
