Standard Job Description
Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Prepares reports of change effect on overall product. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies.
About The Role
We are looking for a Configuration Analyst to complement our team based from our Ampthill, Bedfordshire offices. This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4 day working week Monday - Thursday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for applying Configuration Management principles and practices, working closely with experienced engineers to maintain the integrity of our complex engineering projects.
This role will also provide an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge to progress into more senior Configuration Management / Digital Engineering roles, contributing to the implementation of our Digital Engineering strategy.

- Digital Engineering
Typical Duties Could Include
- Assisting with the application of Configuration Management principles, processes, and tools.
- Key responsibilities include analyzing proposed product design changes for their impact on the overall product and system, supporting the establishment and maintenance of configuration baselines, contributing to change control processes.
- The role involves preparing reports detailing the effect of changes on the overall product, reviewing and analyzing released engineering change data, and ensuring compliance with configuration management policies, collaborating with various teams working closely with experienced engineers.

Duties
In addition to these traditional duties, the role is expected to evolve to incorporate digital transformation, development of digital twins, digital engineering, and model-based systems engineering. This implies that the candidate will likely be involved in:
Digital Transformation
- Contributing to the digital transformation initiatives of the company, which may involve modernising processes, adopting new technologies, or improving digital capabilities.
Development of Digital Twin
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of digital replicas of physical products or systems, which can be used for simulation, testing, and optimisation.
Digital Engineering
- Utilising digital tools and methodologies to design, analyse, and manage engineering projects, potentially including the use of virtual reality, augmented reality, or other advanced digital technologies.
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Employing graphical models to represent, specify, analyse, verify, and validate systems, which can improve communication, collaboration, and efficiency across the engineering lifecycle.

Security Clearance Requirement
The successful candidate must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
Required Skills, Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related discipline.
- Experience as a Configuration Management Engineer or similar role in an engineering environment.
- Knowledge of Configuration Management principles, processes, and standards.
- Familiarity with Configuration Management tools and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Desired Skills
- Configuration Management within the defence industry.
- Working knowledge of DEF-STAN 05-57.
- Windchill PLM.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
- Data integration concepts and technologies.
- Digital Thread concepts and applications.
- Product Development Lifecycle awareness, understanding of concept, design, prototyping, testing, and production phases.
- Systems Engineering exposure, knowledge of SysML and systems thinking principles.
- Appreciation of how complex systems are designed, integrated, and verified, especially with regards to SysML.
