Salary: Grade F (£40,383.00 - £42,612.00)

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of WKP’s Records Management System (Niche). The role ensures the system supports operational policing, and complies with policy, legal and regulatory requirements. The post holder works closely with operational users, technical teams, and the supplier to deliver reliable, secure and efficient system functionality.

Main Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain the RMS to support operational policing processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency and usability.
  • Translate operational and business requirements into system configuration, workflows, forms and rules within the RMS.
  • Manage system changes, enhancements, and releases, including configuration updates, testing and deployment.
  • Ensure the RMS complied with relevant legislation, national policing standards, and information management policies (e.g. data protection, retention and disclosure).
  • Provide second- and third-line support for configuration issues, investigating and resolving incidents and problems.
  • Work collaboratively with operational officers and staff, and SMEs to understand user needs and improve system functionality.
  • Produce and maintain system documentation, including configuration records, procedures and impact assessments.
  • Support system audits, inspection and upgrades, liaising with vendors and internal stakeholders as required.
  • To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Special Conditions

  • Requirement to participate in on call rota
  • Regular travel throughout Warwickshire.

Knowledge

Person Specification:

  • Strong knowledge of configuration management principles in complex enterprise systems.
  • Understanding of RMS concepts, data structures, workflows and information lifecycles.
  • Ability to analyse business processes and translate them into effective system configurations.
  • Knowledge of information security, data protection and access control principles in a regulated environment.

Desirable

  • Previous knowledge of RMS(Niche).

Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in configuring RMS or similar enterprise systems in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience of management system changes, upgrades and testing activities.
  • Experience working with suppliers or third-party vendors to resolve system issues or implement enhancements.
  • Experience supporting users, including diagnosing configuration issues and delivering practical solutions.
