KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam UK & Ireland – BAM UK & Ireland’s Infrastructure segment are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking a Configuration Change Coordinator.

Role Overview

The Configuration Change Coordinator is responsible for supporting the management, coordination and control of configuration changes across the project. The role ensures that proposed changes are appropriately assessed, recorded, reviewed, approved and implemented in accordance with project governance procedures.

Working closely with engineering teams, project controls, document control, digital teams and project stakeholders, the Configuration Change Coordinator will maintain configuration integrity by ensuring all approved changes are accurately tracked, communicated and auditable throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the end-to-end configuration change management process across assigned projects and work packages.
  • Receive, register and maintain records of proposed configuration changes.
  • Ensure change requests are documented correctly and contain all required supporting information.
  • Monitor change requests through submission, assessment, approval, implementation and closure stages.
  • Facilitate review meetings and support Change Control Boards (CCBs) where required.
  • Liaise with engineering, delivery, commercial, planning and quality teams to obtain impact assessments.
  • Track the status of configuration changes and maintain accurate change registers.
  • Ensure approved changes are communicated to relevant stakeholders and project teams.
  • Verify that changes are implemented in accordance with approved requirements and governance procedures.
  • Support the maintenance of configuration baselines and provide evidence of change control activities.
  • Monitor compliance with configuration management standards, procedures and project requirements.
  • Produce change management reports, metrics and key performance indicators for project leadership.
  • Identify bottlenecks, risks or trends within the change process and escalate as appropriate.
  • Support audits, assurance activities and compliance reviews relating to configuration management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to configuration and change management processes.
  • Support the Configuration Control Manager and wider Business Excellence team as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience coordinating change management, project controls, configuration management or governance processes.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience maintaining registers, logs, databases and controlled records.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately within governance frameworks.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience producing reports and performance metrics.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel, SharePoint, Word and Teams.
  • Ability to analyse information and identify potential impacts, risks and dependencies.
  • Experience working within structured project environments with defined governance processes.
  • Proactive approach with strong problem-solving and decision-support capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate activities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience within defence, infrastructure, construction, engineering or major project environments.
  • Knowledge of configuration management principles and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with change control boards, engineering change processes or project governance frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of BIM, ISO 9001, ISO 10007 or ISO 19650 principles.
  • Experience using project management, document control or configuration management systems.

Academic Qualifications

HNC, NVQ Level 4, A-Level qualification or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Information Management or related discipline.
  • APM, Change Management, Configuration Management or Project Controls certification.
