KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam UK & Ireland – BAM UK & Ireland’s Infrastructure segment are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking a Configuration Control Administrator.

The Configuration Control Administrator will support the day-to-day administration of project configuration and information management systems, ensuring information is accurately recorded, maintained and controlled in accordance with project procedures. The role is responsible for supporting data management activities, maintaining project records, administering routine system processes, assisting users with system-related queries and ensuring project information remains complete, secure and accessible.

Working closely with the Configuration Control Coordinator and wider project teams, you will contribute to the effective control of project information and support compliance with governance, security and quality requirements.

To succeed in this role, you should be highly organised, methodical and comfortable working with digital systems and large volumes of information. You should be willing to learn new systems and processes and possess a strong attention to detail.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth

Contract: Permanent, 42.5 hours a week

Making Possible

In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Maintain project records, registers and databases in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Support the administration of configuration and information management systems.
  • Process user account requests, amendments and access removals as directed by the Configuration Control Coordinator.
  • Enter, update and validate project information to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with maintaining configuration item records and associated documentation.
  • Perform routine quality checks on project data and escalate any discrepancies identified.
  • Support document and information control processes.
  • Respond to basic user queries and provide guidance on standard system processes.
  • Assist with project onboarding activities, including user setup and induction administration.
  • Maintain system filing structures and record retention requirements.
  • Generate routine reports and provide administrative support for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Support GDPR, information security and project governance requirements.
  • Assist with testing system updates and recording outcomes when required.
  • Prepare meeting records, action logs and administrative documentation as required.
  • Support the Configuration Control Coordinator and Configuration Control Manager with general administrative duties.

What do you bring to the role?

Essential

  • Good digital skills and confidence using computer-based systems.
  • Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, records or administrative systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with large volumes of information.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow processes, procedures and instructions consistently.
  • Reliable, methodical and able to manage routine administrative activities.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working within configuration control, document control, administration environments aviation / defence logistics.
  • Experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, defence projects or defence / aviation logistics.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Common Data Environments (CDEs) or project information systems.
  • Understanding of GDPR and information security requirements.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and controlled documentation processes.

Academic Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in administration, information management or digital systems desirable.
