Location: Kidderminster

Salary: A GBP 21,157.50 - A GBP 24,784.50 per annum

Vacancy Type: Full-time, Mon-Fri working hours 37.5 hours a week contract. Permanent salary

As an IT recycler and supplier of IT Services, we have overseen more than 3 million devices through the IT lifecycle and, as a result, are perfectly placed to provide our customers with guidance and advice through this complex market. We offer a huge range of additional services, such as IT spares and logistics throughout the UK, as well as datacentre and office relocations, configuration and build, bonded stock, engineers and project managers along with Greensafe Global, our hardware specialist IT brokerage service.

This is an entry-level Junior Technician role. The IT Configuration Engineer is responsible for the configuration, staging, and preparation of IT equipment in line with defined KPIs and SLAs. This includes BIOS configuration, asset tagging, operating system imaging, and post-deployment setup to ensure all devices are fully functional, secure, and customer-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Image and configure desktops, laptops, printers, tablets, and other assets per company standards and in line with SLAs.
  • Configure BIOS settings and apply required system customisations.
  • Execute asset tagging and accurately record customer-specific data in asset management systems.
  • Complete post-imaging configuration, validation, and quality checks to ensure devices meet required standards.
  • Meet defined KPIs and SLAs, including turnaround times, productivity targets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace in compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily production targets and operational goals.
  • Provide support to colleagues to maintain workflow efficiency and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Train and mentor team members to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to processes.
  • Follow data security, handling, and compliance procedures when working with customer devices and information.

  • Strong understanding of PC hardware components and architecture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems is desirable.
  • Experience with imaging and deployment tools (e.g., MDT, SCCM / Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 15-20 kg).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while performing configuration tasks.
