Rate: Up to £622 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required
Your New Role
Hays are recruiting for an experienced Configuration Manager to support a high-profile Ministry of Justice programme.
This is a fully remote contract opportunity working within a secure and highly regulated environment, ensuring the integrity, consistency, and governance of critical IT systems and infrastructure.
You will play a key role in maintaining configuration management processes, controlling changes, ensuring audit compliance, and supporting the successful deployment of technology services across the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and maintaining Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs).
- Identifying, categorising, and tracking configuration items including servers, software, documentation, and infrastructure assets.
- Establishing and maintaining hardware and software baselines.
- Controlling and governing system changes through established change management processes.
- Supporting Change Advisory Boards (CAB) and configuration governance activities.
- Producing status reports and maintaining full traceability of configuration items.
- Conducting audits and verification activities to ensure configuration accuracy and compliance.
- Working closely with technical and business stakeholders to support seamless deployments and operational stability.

What You'll Need to Succeed
- Active SC Clearance.
- Proven experience in Configuration Management within complex IT environments.
- Strong CMDB administration and governance experience.
- Experience managing configuration items, baselines, and change control processes.
- Knowledge of audit, compliance, and configuration verification activities.
- Experience with configuration and version control tools.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across development, engineering, QA, and leadership teams.
