Your Role And Responsibilities
The UK Solutions Engineering Manager leads our UK Solutions Engineering organisation and plays a critical role in driving customer value, technical success and sustainable consumption growth.
This is a pre-sales leadership role. You will lead, develop and coach a high-performing team of Solution Engineers who work alongside Account Executives to identify customer challenges, create new use cases and workloads, achieve the technical win and ultimately translate those wins into production consumption.
You will work in close partnership with the UK Regional Sales Directors (RSDs), jointly establishing regional priorities, account strategy, resource allocation and the operating rhythm for the business.
Our measure of success goes beyond what we demonstrate, design or sell. It is the customer value and consumption we deliver.
What You'll Do
Lead and develop the UK SE team
- Lead, coach, develop and retain a high-performing team of Solution Engineers.
- Recruit and ramp new talent as the organisation grows.
- Set clear expectations and create a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Coach SEs across the core disciplines of modern pre-sales: discovery, technical qualification, solution design, business value, executive engagement and technical storytelling.
- Develop future leaders and create opportunities for experienced SEs to mentor and contribute beyond their individual accounts.
- Recognise strong performance and address performance or capability gaps early and constructively.
- Provide air cover for the team, removing organisational friction so SEs can maximise the time they spend with customers and creating value.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
