Project Assistant – Connect to Work Programme

Grade 6

Location: Ty Elai, Dinas Isaf Industrial Estate, Tonypandy, with delivery across Rhondda Cynon Taf

Contract: Fixed term to 31st March 2030 (subject to programme funding)

Hours: 37 hours per week

The Connect to Work Programme is a new employment support initiative designed to help people overcome barriers to work and achieve sustainable employment. We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Project Assistant to provide vital administrative and operational support to this exciting programme.

About The Role

As Project Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of the Connect to Work Programme. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing participant and programme information, supporting reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with funding and organisational requirements.

Working closely with colleagues across the Connect to Work and Work & Skills teams, you will provide high-quality administrative support that enables the programme to achieve positive outcomes for participants and employers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate participant records and management information systems.
  • Input and monitor programme data, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Create and maintain documents, spreadsheets, reports and administrative records.
  • Support meetings, events, conferences and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Arrange bookings, appointments, venues and diary management.
  • Process orders, invoices and financial transactions in line with Council procedures.
  • Assist with marketing and promotion of the Connect to Work Programme.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with UK GDPR requirements.
  • Provide general office and administrative support across the service.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in an administrative role within an office environment.
  • Experience of data entry and maintaining electronic records.
  • Experience of processing orders, invoices and financial records.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience handling confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to providing excellent service.
  • Experience working within partnership or externally funded programmes.
  • Experience using local authority financial or purchasing systems.
  • Administrative qualifications.
  • Welsh language skills or a willingness to learn Welsh.
